You no longer need to add this user. Tie now connects Shopify with a one-click app, so there is no custom app for this user to support. See Connect your Shopify store to Tie for how it works.
As of January 1, 2026, Shopify requires a user-level account (not a collaborator) to work with custom apps. Adding this user lets Tie see and support the custom app that produces your API credentials.
This is separate from collaborator access: collaborator access covers tracking and validation, while the App Developer user covers the custom app.
Add the user
In Settings → Users and permissions, add a new user:
