Tie reads your order history so it can tell you which of the shoppers it identifies actually bought, and what they bought. That comes from a small read-only app on your store.
You do not build the app. Tie builds it for your store, and you install it with one click.
What you do
Enter your Shopify store URL on the setup page. Either form works,
yourbrand.myshopify.comoradmin.shopify.com/store/yourbrand.Wait a moment while Tie builds the app. This runs on our side. You can leave the page and come back, it keeps going.
Click Connect Shopify, then follow Shopify's prompts to install.
That is the whole thing. There is no app to create, no permissions to type in, and no keys to send us.
Why we need your store URL first
The app is built for one store and locked to it. We cannot create it until we know which store it belongs to, which is why the URL comes before everything else.
It also means the install link is yours alone. It will not work on another store, and another brand's link will not work on yours.
What the app can read
Shopify shows you this list before you approve it. All four are read-only.
What it reads | Why Tie needs it |
Customer records | So Tie can match the shoppers it identifies against people you already know |
Orders | Your orders |
Full order history | Without this, Shopify only returns the last 60 days |
Draft orders | So manual and wholesale orders are counted too |
What does not change
The app cannot change anything in your store. It has no access to your theme, your other apps, your customers' payment details, or your payouts. Nothing about how your store looks or behaves is affected.
This is also separate from the Tie Pixel. The app reads order data through Shopify's API. The pixel tracks activity on your site. You need both, and they are installed differently.
If something goes wrong
The link says the application cannot be found, or will not load. Install links are generated for your store and expire after a few days. If yours has been sitting for a while, ask your Tie contact for a fresh one rather than retrying the old link.
You installed it on the wrong store. Tell your Tie contact which store it should have been. We generate a new link for the right one.
You want to check it worked. The Shopify step on your setup page flips to connected on its own once the install lands. If it has not moved after a few minutes, let us know.
Removing it later
The app appears in your Shopify admin under Settings, then Apps and sales channels. You can uninstall it there at any time, the same as any other app. Doing that stops Tie from reading new order data.
