As of January 1, 2026, Shopify requires a user-level account (not a collaborator) to work with custom apps. Adding this user lets Tie see and support the custom app that produces your API credentials.

This is separate from collaborator access: collaborator access covers tracking and validation, while the App Developer user covers the custom app.

In Settings → Users and permissions, add a new user:

Once the user is added, create the app itself: Set up the Shopify custom app.
